Everyone has been talking about dreadlocks nonstop since Zendaya rocked faux locs on the Oscars red carpet. So we thought it was time to highlight a few real women who wear the style just as well. Getting dreadlocks is a lenghthy process. First, the hair is twisted or coiled into small sections then slowly allowed to become matted, or "locked." Over time the hair is rolled into rope-like tendrils that can be manipulated similar to loose hair. And while Zendaya's hairstyle was definitely a statement-making moment, these 19 ladies are devoted to the loc lifestyle 365 days a year. They rock them dip-dyed, embellished with jewels, and curled into tight ringlets. We even spotted a few ladies with gorgeous updo looks.
