Now you can't walk into a drugstore without seeing styling butters, preshampoo treatments, and <a href="http://ift.tt/1xcyK1c" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">co-washes targeted for ringlets and coils</a>. The latest innovation to hit stores is an import from the South American beauty market: combing cream (aka creme para pentear). We thought we'd given up tear-free detangler after our <a class="ss_inline_link auto_link_filter no_shopsense_url_rewrite" href="http://ift.tt/1JHflsp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Shop for Johnson & Johnson">Johnson & Johnson</a> days, but combing cream has cut down the yanking and pulling required every time we wash.</p>
<p>The product is equal parts detangler and leave-in styling cream, which makes it perfect for coarse or curly hair types. The smooth texture helps a comb glide through tangled locks, minimizing breakage and knots. Just apply the product section by section while your hair is still damp after conditioner. Once you've detangled every strand, you don't have to rinse out any of the remainder. The excess acts as a lightweight, curl-enhancing cream. For more definition, you can add a gel or butter on top. But the combing cream is so lightweight, you won't have any white residue the next day. Shop the few combing creams available stateside ahead.</p>

<p>Ask any mother: as soon as a child is born, a personality begins to develop — and sparkle. Yet so many kids are restricted to the same cookie-cutter hairstyles. Hair is a medium of self-expression, and tots should be able to let their characteristics shine through their cut.</p>
<p><a href="http://ift.tt/1jsI27x" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Photographer Emily Stein</a> worked with children of color on her project "Hairdo," having them pose however they liked, so their portraits would flaunt their identities. "I wanted the photographs to have their own stamp on them, whether they were yawning, hiding or pouting," Stein <a href="http://ift.tt/1LTWel1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">told The Huffington Post</a>.</p>
<p>Black kids have long experienced discrimination because of their <a href="http://ift.tt/1fcDu2S" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">natural hair texture</a> and <a href="http://ift.tt/1QDi7UO" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">how they wear it</a>. <p>We believe <a href="http://ift.tt/11eSZjQ" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">anyone can rock a flower crown</a>, even dogs. Thanks to Sophie Gamand, who started the #PitBullFlowerPower project, this group of furry friends can teach us a thing or two about wearing a festival staple.</p>
<p>According to Sophie's website, the photographer and animal activist started the project as a way to show the softer side of this misunderstood breed. "I realized pit bulls were always portrayed in very urban, gritty photographs," she said on <a href="http://ift.tt/1y36jkp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">her site</a>. "So I decided to take the other route and portray them like hippies, soft fairy-tale-inspired characters, feminine and dreamy."</p>
<p>The result of her project has not only led to a viral campaign and many supporters, but it's also produced some awfully cute pit bull photos. After seeing these images, we want to adopt them all!
