These Organic Tattoos Look Real but Disappear After 2 Weeks

I've got serious commitment issues — when it comes to tattoos. For the last five years, I've contemplated taking the step toward permanent ink, but it all seems so . . . well, concrete. I wish tattoos were like cars that you could test-drive. And that is exactly what start-up company Inkbox is advertising (sign me up!).

The team has created an organic formula that lasts 12 to 15 days before slowly fading away. The ink is derived from the genipa americana fruit, which has been used among tribes native to Panama for generations. Over the course of 12 hours, the pulp dyes the top layer of skin a solid-black shade (not a flashy metallic like other popular temporary tattoos). And two weeks later, it disappears. It's like a cross between henna and your favorite self-tanner. Inkbox has already raised over $35,000 on Kickstarter. If the project reaches the $100,000 mark, you'll be able to customize your own Inkbox designs. It looks like I'm one step closer to getting the "Stay Weird" tattoo that will totally freak out my father.
